The goal of this project was to create a high-energy global commercial that celebrated the partnership between OMEN, Riot Games, and Intel, premiering during the League of Legends World Championship in China. The campaign aimed to ignite excitement among fans and gamers by connecting OMEN’s gaming laptops to the rich League of Legends universe and esports culture.

Background

OMEN, a leading gaming computer brand under HP Inc., collaborated with Riot Games and Intel to launch a cobranded gaming laptop inspired by League of Legends. The commercial needed to appeal to both dedicated esports fans and casual gamers—showcasing the product’s performance while capturing the lore, creativity, and energy of the LoL community.

 

Objective

My role was to direct and executive produce the spot, overseeing both creative and logistical execution. As Executive Producer, I managed cross-brand coordination between OMEN, Riot, and Intel - ensuring brand alignment, scope clarity, and seamless communication across production, budgets, and approvals. As Director, I led the live-action shoot, refined the script, directed talent, and oversaw post-production animation.

The final commercial followed Stella, a renowned cosplayer, as she’s inspired by Worlds footage to push her limits, triggering a mystical OMEN portal that transforms her laptop—and herself into Jinx a character from the League of Legends universe and Riot series Arcane. The ad fused League of Legends lore with cinematic storytelling to inspire gamers worldwide.
